Although the benefits of social enterprises seem to be well understood, we know very little about what it means to be a social entrepreneur coming from a poor background. Intrigued by stories such as that of DJ Bola, in 2020 and 2021 we conducted a survey of 101 social entrepreneurs in Brazil from varying economic backgrounds.
