The High-Level Expert Group on the Net Zero Emissions Commitments was announced by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres at COP26 to scrutinise net zero promises by private sector actors. The UNFCCC already consolidates and monitors the nationally determined contributions of parties to the Paris Agreement via its Global Climate Action Portal.
