CSRHub found that using the AA1000 Assurance Standard (AA1000AS) to assure an ESG report had a positive effect on a company’s ESG rating. Data from more than 7,000 entities showed that issuing a sustainability report had a positive effect on an entity’s consensus ESG ratings and that this effect was increased by assuring the report.

Its dataset was created for investment uses out of its founders’ frustration with what they perceived to be the slow analysis, low quality, and inherent biases of other ESG rating systems.
CSRHub has been generating consensus ESG ratings for 16 years. We started with data on about 5,000 entities. In 2024, we’re able to publish data on more than 56,000 entities (companies, not for profits, government bodies). Version 3.1 of CSRHub’s Application Programming Interface (API) is now live. The CSRHub Specification for REST Access (CSRA) now has 213 separate calls, up from 125 in Version 2.8. The new calls allow users to request consensus ESG ratings on the 55,000 entities CSRHub covers.

They have shared information on more than 17,000 of the 38,467 entities they track. We have ratings for almost 15,000 of the entities we received data on.
We recently added UK data to the Violations First data set on legal issues. We have now found another data set on US issues. Lequity Group collects, organizes, and analyzes data from the thousands of federal, state, and local courts and regulatory bodies across the country. This difficult task requires Lequity to interface with and ingest data from disparate, scattered, and inconsistent legal systems.
Our friends at Good Jobs First recently extended their Violation Tracker (VT) product to include companies in the UK. They have now shared with us the legal violation and fine history for 725 British entities.
CSRHub recently learned about an extensive analysis of US grocery store ESG performance that was conducted by Ratio Institute. Their “ 2022 ESG State of the Industry ” Report covers the 107 largest grocery chains. It consistently evaluated 127 ESG (Environment, Social, and Governance) criteria across both 62 publicly-owned and 45 privately-owned entities.
