Shareholder claims over ‘greenwashing’ are likely to grow in the UK as companies face increasing pressure from regulators and investors to publish ESG disclosures in their market-facing information. Such claims are most likely to be brought by investment firms committed to ethical investment, but in principle any shareholder can do so.
