It follows an extensive request for information during which 70% of investors called for TCFD-based disclosure , including its recommendation to use Greenhouse Gas Protocol standards for disclosing corporate GHG emissions. Scope 3 was introduced in 2001 in the first edition of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard.

We’ve already heard from the likes of Bosch, Dell, Google and Meta/Facebook about their ‘net zero by 2030’ targets and plans for getting there. They are setting targets for reduction and eventually elimination of the use of hydrocarbons, rare earths and non-recyclable materials in technology hardware manufacture.
