Conservation group World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) has appointed Kamal Seth to lead its global efforts to transform the palm oil trade.
Seth has been appointed as WWF’s global palm oil lead. He joins from the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), a sustainability standards body for the palm oil sector, where he was deputy director, global market transformation, and country head for the Indian market.
Based in Singapore, his job will involve leading the group’s efforts towards mainstreaming environmental and social sustainability in the US$61 billion palm oil trade.

Seth is one of the founding directors of Sustainable Palm Oil Coalition for India, or I-SPOC, a multistakeholder platform co-founded by RSPO) and WWF India.
At I-SPOC, he was involved in market transformation initiatives such as the #KnowYourPalm campaign, India’s first sustainable palm oil awareness initiative.
Over his career, Seth was founding and steering committee member of the Youth for Sustainability India Alliance, a collective of youth-focused and multi-stakeholder organisations working to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals,
He was also a board member of Human Circle, which he also founded, which mentors young people and organisations to take action around SDGs. He is a member of the World Economic Forum’s strategic intelligence expert network.
