Now, last year, we sent out a special issue of Pegasus wherein I contended that Marx did not at all understand capitalism and the universal human process of wealth creation. Rather, I suggested, he only saw rent extraction as the basic human approach to the acquisition of economic assets. Thus, he came up with a theory of capitalism as nothing more than rent- seeking.
