The latest assessment of the top 20 wind and the top 20 solar farms in Australia over April has been published by analysts Rystad Energy, and they that while Queensland bagged the honours in solar performance, the wind honours were shared around.
Queensland had eight of the top 11 solar farms in April, unsurprising given the seasonal changes, with the Blue Grass solar farm topping the list with a capacity factor ofd 29.6 per cent for the month, ahead of the Rugby Run and Kidston solar farms.
The wind list was topped by Neoen’s Hornsdale 1 wind farm, with a capacity factor of 39.6 per cent, ahead of Goldwind’s Cattle Hill wind farm in Tasmania, and the Mumbida wind farm in Western Australia.
Rystad’s David Dixon says the combined output of utility scale solar PV and wind assets in the month was  3,216 GWh, an 11 per cent increase from from 2,895 GWh in April last year.
