Maksym Kozytskyi, the head of the Lviv Administration, said the project will be a complex of greenhouses that will use geothermal heat from the Earth's depths. There are only a few such projects worldwide, and this will be the first in Ukraine.
"Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, and lettuce will be grown in the greenhouse complex," said Kozytskyi.
It is noted that greenhouse complex will have an area of 15 hectares. Using geothermal resources will allow the greenhouses to be independent of gas supply. Gas savings will amount to 8 million cubic meters per year, and in this way, it will be possible to supply vegetables at affordable prices.
The project is being implemented by the Triosan Holding Ukraine company, which has already undertaken similar projects in Poland and Slovakia. Construction will start next year, and the first phase will be operational in 2025. Triosan Holding Ukraine will cover the costs.
