We are starting 2024 with incredible news from Sorik Marapi! PT Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power (PT SMGP), a subsidiary of KS Orka Renewables Pte. Ltd., has successfully achieved the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for Unit IV of the Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power Plant.
With the acceptance of the Unit Rated Capacity Test for Unit IV, it commenced commercial operation on December 16, 2023, and is ready to supply electricity to the North Sumatra grid owned by PT PLN (Persero). The total generation capacity of the Sorik Marapi Geothermal Power Plant connected to the North Sumatra grid is approximately 140 MW. PT SMGP remains committed to continuous development to provide clean renewable energy.
This aligns with PT SMGP's role to support the Indonesian government in the energy transition to achieve Net Zero Emission by 2060.
